For Campaign Representatives
Thank you for being willing to serve as the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas representative for your area, unit or installation. Without a network of thousands of representatives, the CFC-O could never be a success. As a CFC-O CAPO, Unit Coordinator or Keyperson, you will support the mission of the CFC to promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all Federal employees the opportunity to support their personal and professional values while improving the quality of life for all.
Support for the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas begins at the highest levels with our campaign chairman, Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates.
The CFC-O representative chain of command structure looks like this:
Command Program Manager:
Oversees the campaign for each of the combatant commands
Component Manager/Country Area Coordinator:
Oversees the campaign for each component or country
Community/Area Project Officer (CAPO):
Oversees the campaign for an installation/area
Unit Coordinator:
Oversees the campaign for a unit, squadron, company, or GSU
Keyperson:
Offers potential contributors the 100% informed opportunity to participate in the campaign

We understand that you have undertaken the role of Keyperson, Unit Coordinator or Community/Area Project Officer (CAPO) in addition to your other important daily responsibilities and we have will provide you with all of the materials you will need to make your job as easy as possible.
To more fully understand what will be required of you in your role as campaign representative, please click on "Job Responsibilities" from the left hand menu. There you will find a description of before, during and after campaign tasks for Keypersons, Unit Coordinators and CAPOs. These can also be printed and used as checklists to help keep you on track during the campaign.
Your primary responsibility is to ensure that every potential contributor (military member and DoD civilian) serving in your area of responsibility is familiar with the benefits of giving to the CFC and is offered the chance to participate, but has not been coerced to give. We call this the 100% informed opportunity to give, and it is the secret to our success. The number one reason people give to charity is because they were offered the opportunity to do so, which is exactly what you will be doing as CFC-O campaign volunteers - offering contributors the opportunity to Make a World of Difference in their communities, our nation and around the globe.
